Cyber Monday Virtual Reality Deals for 2019

The first full length Half-Life game in a decade is arriving early next year and it will be exclusively available in virtual reality. If you are shopping for VR headset deals and promos, we have compiled for you the best Cyber Monday VR headset deals for 2019 that will allow you to lay your hands on some of the top VR headsets and subscriptions at deeply discounted pricing.
There are lots of VR deals ahead of the Cyber Monday. HTC started the sale with a generous $300 discount on its Vive Pro Starter Kit as well as a $100 discount on the recently launched Vive Cosmos headset. The Oculus Rift S headset is also having a $50 discount through December 2.
There are still no discounts for Valve Index but the headset is already sold out in many US and Canadian retailers as buyers rush to acquire the headset in readiness for the Half-Life: Alyx. Fortunately, users can still enjoy Half-Life with an Oculus headset. Though they do not deliver a performance similar to that of the full-room VR Valve headsets, they still do relatively well.
Top Cyber Monday Deals
- Oculus Rift S: With a resolution of 1280 x 1440 pixels per eye and inside-out tracking, the Rift S is a considerable improvement over the original Rift and does not require external sensors. Grab for it just $349 and save $50.
- Vive Pro Starter Kit: The Starter Kit includes the headset, controllers and base stations which is all that you will need to get started with high-performance VR. It normally goes for $1,099 but for Cyber Monday, you can grab it for just $799 and save $300. The sale includes upgraded SteamVR base stations.
- Vive Cosmos: Even with a discount, the Vive Cosmos headset is still more expensive than the Oculus Quest and Rift S. However, it has no inside-out tracking so users don’t have to worry about base stations. It also has a resolution of 2880 x 1700 or 1440 x 1700 per eye. For Cyber Monday, you can grab this for $599 and save $100.
Cyber Monday Deals for Oculus
There are a number of Oculus deals that you can grab over Cyber Monday. With the Oculus Quest deal, you get a bundled game and with Oculus Rift S, you get a generous discount of $50.
If you are shopping for a more casual virtual reality headset, then you can grab an Oculus Go deal.
The Quest Cyber Monday discounts do not amount to much but it provides a good starter pack. From now until January 31, the deal will include the headset, Oculus Touch controllers as well as three episodes of the Star Wars virtual reality series Vader Immortal. Upon the purchase of the headset, the user must activate Oculus Quest within the first 30 days to get Vader Immortal free. The last possible day for redeeming the offer is March 2.
While there will be no generous discounts for Quest, there are great Cyber Monday discounts for the other Oculus headsets. Oculus Rift S and the two versions of the Oculus Go headsets will be discounted by $50 on Cyber Monday.
Facebook is also planning a number of discounts on its portal devices. These are touchscreen displays that enable users to video call their friends and family, show photos and also control their smart home using a built-in Alexa support plus much more. The Portal, Portal Mini along with the Portal TV are currently available for a discount of $50. There is also the Portal Plus which comes with a $30 discount.
Oculus Quest 64GB/128GB VR headset with Vader Immortal: $400/$500
In this Cyber Monday VR offer, Oculus has bundled together all the three episodes of the Star Wars Vader Immortal VR series with the purchase of every virtual reality headset. This offer will be available until January 31.
You can get the 64GB version for $400 and the 128GB version for $500. There are no special offers but you get the three Vader Immortal series for free thereby saving you $30. The Vader Immortal is also a novel way for Star Wars fans to get a virtual reality experience.
Oculus Rift S: $350
The Oculus Rift S headset was available for a discounted pricing of $350 during Black Friday. That offer is extending into Cyber Monday. You will need a PC with the minimum or recommended hardware specs as well as its software to run the headset otherwise everything else has been included in the deal including the Touch controllers.
Oculus Go headset 32GB or 64Gb headset: $150 or $200 respectively
For a lighter and more casual virtual reality experience, you can go with the Oculus Go headset. This headset is better suited for movies, shows and other media streaming but not ideal for heavy duty virtual reality gaming applications. For the Cyber Monday, you can purchase the 32GB headset for $150 and 64GB for $200.
