FitXR Will Soon Get Free Dance Workouts
FitXR is the successor to the popular virtual reality workout app BoxVR and it is now getting a new activity – dance workouts.
BoxVR underwent an update in August of this year to become FitXR. While the free update kept its previous core boxing mechanics, it introduced a new UI as well as new features around it while getting rid of some of the content. The creator FitXR had noted that the update was the first step towards building out the platform to incorporate a diverse range of activities to offer users varied workouts. The first of such activities to be added are the dance workouts. You can check out the teaser trailer above.
The dance workouts will arrive on November 5th and they will also be available as a free update. The dance workouts will feature 60 minutes’ worth of exercises. According to the trailer, the usual floating notes in the FitXR/BoxVR have been replaced with a virtual instructor that now guides the player through the beginner as well as the four intermediate classes.
There are three different types of the dancing. These include learning the dance moves, focusing on the endurance as well as one to build strength. It isn’t clear whether FitXR might also introduce new classes through DLC.
By introducing new and different types of workouts, FitXR is offering more than other VR workout apps like Beat Saber and Supernatural which emphasize only one exercise type.
The dance workouts are set to launch on both Quest and Quest 2. There is still no word on whether it will also have PC VR or PSVR support as the apps on these platforms are still in the BoxVR stage.
