FORM launches swimming goggles with AR display
Sports technology provider FORM has announced the launch of a pair of premium swim goggles with a transparent AR display that delivers performance metrics in real-time.
With an aim to make training smarter and more purposeful, FORM collaborated with top competitive swimmers and coaches, including ex-Olympians to develop its unique product. The FORM Swim Goggles eliminates the frustration of swimmers who tackle with current tiresome wearables, which hinders technique and are at the same time difficult to access in real-time.
Made from high-grade materials and industry-leading manufacturing processes to offer optimal fit, durability, and hydrodynamics, the FORM Swim Goggles consists of an AR display, a miniaturised on-board computer that uses AI to track and display metrics like split times, distance, stroke rate, and stroke count. The goggles come with a mobile app for both, iOS and Android platforms. This app allows swimmers and coaches to review and share workouts recorded by the goggles and track the progress over time.
With a price tag of C$199 (£122), consumers will be able to order the goggles starting August 7.
A study from SYZYGY Extended Realities earlier this month, involving more than 1,000 Brits, found nearly 71 per cent of the surveyed respondents stating extended reality future would be of interest when purchasing a product or service. It also found 81 per cent millennial respondents saying XR would soon be used day to day.
