Way before nDreams created the stealthy Phantom: Covert Ops, the British virtual reality (VR) developer published a frantic little shooter called Shooty Fruity. Soon it’ll be the turn of Oculus Quest to grab a shopping trolley and head into those dangerous supermarket isles.

Back in 2017 wave shooters were still very popular with VR studios as they didn’t have to worry about locomotion. nDreams looked to expand upon this idea of constantly shooting enemy waves by adding a comedic multitasking element.
Sat behind your till the aim of Shooty Fruity is to take down all the mutant fruit rampaging through the store. You can do this by unleashing an arsenal of weapons on your juicy foes, such as flak cannons, gatling guns and missile launchers. But to access these armaments you’ll need to be good at your main job, scanning, serving and packing groceries to unlock them.
To aid you in preparing this supermarket fruit salad massacre are power-ups like bullet-time slow-mo, exploding ammo and more. These will help you max out that score a hopefully make it onto the Shooty Fruity leaderboards.

To see this in action why not take a look at VRFocus’ previous PC VR gameplay or our full review.
Co-developed by nDreams and Near Light, Shooty Fruity will be available for Oculus Quest from 27th August 2020, retailing for £14.99GBP/$19.99USD/€19.99EUR. For further updates on the latest VR projects from nDreams, keep reading VRFocus.
