Medal of Honor VR Arrives This Holiday, New Trailer Out This Week
After a long silence, Respawn is releasing new details about its upcoming VR title Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond. It confirmed that the game is coming during the Holiday 2020 and that a new trailer will be released this week. The trailer will be showcased in the digital edition of Gamescom during the event’s Opening Night Live event to be held on August 27th.
The Game Award’s Geoff Keighley also confirmed the same in a tweet that he posted with new artwork yesterday.

During the show, Keighley will be joined by the founder and CEO of Respawn Entertainment Vince Zampella and Peter Hirschmann, the Game Director for Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.
In his tweet, Keighley revealed that this will be a ‘world premiere story trailer’ where Zampella and Hirschmann will share details on what fans can expect from the VR-exclusive WWII title. The game had been slated for the 2020 launch from the word go and now it is finally confirmed that it is happening this holiday season.
Last year, Respawn released the basic story details about the game where the player is cast as an Allied agent of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) going on daring missions. These missions include infiltrating a hotel full of Gestapo or fighting your way through a generic European town. If something has changed in the plot, then we are likely to know in the next few days.
Oculus and Respawn first went into a partnership in 2017 and this was followed by the unveiling of the Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond at the Oculus Connect 6 last year. From the looks of it, this title will be an Oculus Rift exclusive as multiple platform support hasn’t been mentioned yet.
The game was demo’d during the OC6 last year and it is a huge deal. It is expected to be one of the biggest virtual titles for Rift owners this year.
The new trailer will be the first fresh update on the game that we have seen since last year. The game is being developed Respawn Entertainment and represent the first entry in the series after a long hiatus.
Set in WWII, Medal of Honor takes you on several missions across the globe in a full campaign. It is expected that it will also have multiplayer content although this feature is yet to be revealed.
This is one of the large-scale games that Facebook has reserved for its Rift platform, with the other being Lone Echo II. Both of these games appear to have too big a scope to launch on Quest.
