NexTech AR collaborates with Poplar over new brand advertising initiative
NexTech AR Solutions has joined hands with UK-based AR collaborative platform Poplar wherein the latter will utilise NexTech AR’s advanced WebAR technology, while NexTech AR would leverage Poplar’s brand new AR campaign creation platform.
David Ripert, CEO and co-founder of Poplar and ex-head of YouTube Spaces, EMEA, at Google, said: “We are thrilled to become partners with NexTech AR, whose web-based 3D visualisation tool will empower our global AR creator community and brand clients to produce app-less 3D and AR campaigns at scale, through the mobile browser.
“There is no question that AR is the future of retail, with 75% of people saying they expect retailers to offer an AR experience,” added Ripert. “In fact, AR try-on experiences using 3D models provide a 11 times higher likelihood for customers to make a purchase. This is why we are so excited to be working with NexTech AR to bring this 3D visualisation technology to all our customers.”
When it comes to marketing, AR allows brands to provide unique and immersive digital experiences that significantly attract consumers.
For instance, international apparel firm VF Corp has opened a new retail space (Axtell Soho) in London to demonstrate how it is using technology to bring the stories of its brands to life. One of the key features at this retail space is avatar-based virtual mannequins that highlight several seasonal looks in 3D. Visitors can use touchscreen displays to view products in different scenarios.
In 2019, British online fashion retailer ASOS introduced an experimental AR feature called Virtual Catwalk, which is designed to help app users visualise 100 ASOS Design products. The same year Manchester City FC integrated AR into its stadium visitor experience, introducing an immersive tour in celebration of its 125th birthday. Visitors of the tour were able to use AR to ‘sit next to’ and ‘interact’ with Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, at the top table of a press conference.
Last month, NexTech and Californian enterprise video solutions provider Jolokia collaborated to combine their individual expertise in their respective domains. NexTech will combine its skills with Jolokia’s secure, cognitive, and interactive video platform to expand its reach into the learning and development industry.
