Resolution Games Multiplayer Party Game Acron Merges VR and Mobile Gaming
Resolution Games, the studio behind the virtual reality fishing game Bait! and the wildly popular Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs along with numerous other hit titles has come up with a new multiplayer party game called ACRON that is set for release this summer. The game is cross-platform and is played on both mobile and virtual reality devices.
ACRON has both competitive and cooperative aspects and allows the player to play and compete with their friends in both virtual reality and mobile devices simultaneously.
In the game, the player takes the role of a giant tree that is the sole protector of the Golden Acrons or the “seeds of life.” The other players on the mobile devices will, on the other hand, take the role of bands of conniving and rebellious squirrels that will be plotting together and trying to steal the Acrons, grabbing as many nuts as they can. The giant living tree uses various abilities such as throwing rocks to slow down the squirrels and prevent them from stealing the Acrons.
There are multiple levels in the game and each of the levels will depict diverse natural environments as well as several characters with different roles that the players can assume.
Resolution Games has stated that the game will be launched in “several major VR platforms” and it will also be available on mobile devices including iOS and Android devices. The Stockholm-based studio said that the game will feature many firsts and provide users with a fun experience that will appeal not just to novices but also to hardcore gamers and virtual reality enthusiasts.
Resolution Games is keen on creating a virtual reality experience that can be played and enjoyed with friends and family. To actualize this, ACRON offers a unique gaming experience that allows players in virtual reality to play against opponents that are on mobile devices with all of the action taking place within a social setting. The game is both fun and hilarious!
The massive hype around virtual reality which was such a ubiquity for the last few years is gradually waning off and VR developers are looking for creative new ways to entice and bring back the players to VR with captivating experiences. Resolution Games is currently at the forefront of VR content creation and has pumped out some major hits such as Bait! which has so far been downloaded more than 2.5 million times, Wonderglade and Narrows with additional titles currently in the pipeline. The Stockholm-based studio is also behind the popular Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs. Resolution Games is hoping that its new VR game will also be a massive hit like its previous titles.
